Cast Update 12-7-2018

With this being the last update of the year, I hope that I can stay up to date on all of the projects that still have release dates out for this year. If not all of them are made, then I would have no choice but to remove the ones from the list that aren’t out yet because I can only assume that they won’t be made. Also keep in mind that it could be awhile before I finally get to reviewing The Walking Dead. You will see in my Madam Secretary blog or, possibly, my Survivor blog, once it is added to the list.

Spin-off information- My review of the spin-off will follow later in this post. It will probably stay for as long as the show is still on. If the show leaves the air, then I’ll probably cut it. I do plan on creating a new blog for it in the future. I guess that I will just have to keep you updated on when it might be released in the future.

Julianna Margulies: It appears that the main actress has a project in the works. She is working on a new project called The Hot Zone, which will be a miniseries. I hope that it airs on the FOX network so I can see it. Otherwise, I might have it here without much info in it.

The Hot Zone: This doesn’t have much of a plot mentioned, other than that it is about the spread of the Ebola virus. It does not have a release date or trailer just yet. FOX is the studio doing this, although I have no idea what FOX network it might end up on. Research shows that National Geographic might be the network airing this.

Josh Charles: He’s in something new called Framing John DeLorean. I hope that I see more from him in the future or this will be a fairly short segment that you will always see. It is hard to tell for sure what goes on with some of the projects of his or other people’s in this blog to be honest.

Framing John DeLorean- It might be a documentary. Also, I would suggest joining my facebook group Firefly: Where Are They Now? That will contain updates to this movie as well as it has Morena Baccarin in it. It has a release year of 2019.

Graham Phillips: He has had a minor role on Riverdale’s second season. We’ll see if we see more of him there in the future or not. He is also going to appear in a movie called The Bygone. I don’t know if he is doing as much anymore, but at least he is doing something.

The Bygone: This has a release year of 2018. It doesn’t have a trailer yet. It looks like a missing person drama of some sort and could be very interesting. Hopefully it will get made and come out in a format that I could easily watch sooner rather than later.

Archie Panjabi: This actress did a lot after leaving the show. She did the show Blindspot, although she doesn’t have that much of a role in it anymore, I’ll keep mentioning it until I find something new to add in its place. I also see her mentioned in some show called Next of Kin. It is a British show that looks like it is already released so it won’t get much of a mention besides that. She might be showing up in a new show in the future, but until more is known, it won’t get its own section yet.

Blindspot: This show is on NBC at 8/7 Central on Fridays. Archie played a character who seems to suddenly be helping with the team. A review will follow. Her character is the leader of the team at the moment, although I’m not sure I fully understand how that happened. I don’t know if she is still with the show this new season, but the review will remain as long as the show is still on. Be on the lookout for it moving to a new and different section of these updates.

Review: Blindspot: Status- Currently on NBC at 8/7 Central on Fridays. Why I’ve seen it- I was interested in the idea of it. Description- For mysterious reasons, a woman has amnesia and tattoos all over her body and there are crimes solved based off of this. Notable People- Archie Panjabi, who was on The Good Wife, was a character on the show. Pros- The show is intriguing and interesting. Cons- The show may seem a bit scatterbrained and it seems like they are trying to do a female version of Jason Bourne. The show can seem similar to other types of dramas in a way. It can also be more violent than it needs to be. Note to Parents- I’d say that this is something that teenagers can watch, but not any younger than that. I think that all the episodes I’ve seen thus far were TV14. Recommendation- I’d say that this is worth watching. Prediction- I’m not sure that I have a high hope for the show at the moment. I could be proven wrong, but Fridays aren’t a good time for a show to be at. Reception: positive. Grade: B+.

Christine Baranski: After rejecting various pilots and other projects in the hopes of getting a spin-off from the Good Wife, she got what was wanted and will be on a Good Wife spin-off. It will only be available on CBS All Access (and hopefully DVDs in the future). The spin-off is called The Good Fight. It doesn’t seem like she’s doing much in film and TV at least.

The Good Fight: It will be put on www.cbs.com and be available to watch on CBS all access to those that want it. It is available now. Expect to see the same review over and over again for whichever people work on this from The Good Wife.

Review: Status- It is available online only at CBS all access. I’ll let you know if it is released on DVD. Why I’ve seen it- If there is something in this blog that I can review, I will. Description- Diane continues her adventures starting from scratch after losing her retirement money and starting at a new firm. Pros- The show is about the same level of quality that you would expect from The Good Wife. Cons- Apparently, there is going to be a lot of nudity in it. Like the original, this show is a bit too confusing. Note to Parents- Your kids would have to pay to watch this online so if they are seeing it, then you hopefully were the ones who let that happen, although I’d lean towards not letting really young people watch this. Recommendation- Since this is only available online for money, I would actually steer clear of this unless you really like the show. I like it, but not enough to shell out too much money for it. Prediction- This could last a while if people keep using the subscription service to watch it. It will be hard to tell for sure as it goes along. Reception: critically acclaimed. Grade: B.

Matt Czuchry: All of this time that you’ve seen me doing updates for him in this blog, you only saw me mentioning the reboot of Gilmore Girls. Well, I can finally take that off the update list and report on something new he is finally doing. It is a TV show called The Resident.

The Resident: This is a show that is currently on FOX. I’m not sure if there’s a better way of putting it than calling it a medical drama, which is what it would be. The main thing that would make it different is it focusing more on medicine than other shows have, according to one description that I read of it. That description may be wrong upon seeing the trailer, although I’d have to see the show to know for sure. A review of the show now follows.

The Resident: Status- Currently on FOX at 8/7 Central on Mondays. Why I’ve seen it- I watched this for my Good Wife blog and to fulfill my promise to watch a midseason replacement on FOX this season. Description- This is a medical drama that features different doctors, some new, and there are various problems at the hospital at times. It seems a rather complicated plot that is hard to sum up easily. It should make more sense as it goes along. Notable People- This has Matt Czuchry who used to star in The Good Wife and Gilmore girls. It also has Emily VanCamp who starred on Brothers and Sisters as well as Revenge. Pros- It points out the flaws that can happen in a hospital, but does it in a good way. It can seem more humanizing than most medical dramas that I’ve seen in the past. Cons- It seems similar to House. The lead can be strange and arrogant. Note to Parents- It airs with a content adversary warning in some episodes so that’s all you really need to know about it. Recommendation- I’d say that this is good to stay into if you want to. My Viewing Habits- I plan to watch this until the very end. Whether I’ll be able to see every episode or not remains to be seen. Prediction- It is hard to tell for sure this early, but I think that it might last a bit for now. Reception: mixed. Grade: B.

Makenzie Vega: She has been working since The Good Wife ended. Sadly, she hasn’t been doing that much. I haven’t been able to find something that I could review just yet. I hope that she ends up doing something good soon. Otherwise, I guess this will be one less person to worry about. She was in a made for TV movie that came out recently. She also appeared in two episodes of 13 Reasons Why.

Alan Cumming: Here’s an actor who’s known for starring in Broadway plays and productions. Perhaps you have seen him on the Tony Awards that you always watch because you can’t afford to see Broadway any other way. It looks like he has a lot of future projects in the works. One is called The Surrealist. He is also doing something called Instinct. Another thing that he is in is called Bright in a Hollow Sky. Yet another thing that he appears to be doing is a TV movie called Going Back. There’s also a new project called Run. That’s a lot.

The Surrealist: This appears to be a scripted movie regarding an artist named Salvador Dali. This appears to be based off of a true story. It looks like he has issues with his wife over his obsession with the Mona Lisa. There is no release date or trailer for the movie, and it appears that it doesn’t so much as have a single year of release on it just yet. Upon doing more research, it might be in development hell since a source I found with information says that it was planned since at least the fifth upcoming season of The Good Wife. So hopefully something will eventually come of this potential project. I’m not even sure if it belongs in these updates.

Instinct: You’ll find out more information about this in the next paragraph where I review the show. It is on hiatus now until the second season starts sometime in the future. We will have to wait until later until there is a release date for it.

Instinct: Status- Currently on hiatus until season 2 starts. Why I’ve seen it- I normally always watch a CBS show at least once. Noteworthiness- This is adapted from a James Patterson book. Description- It is hard to tell for sure that much about it right off the bat, but it seems to be about a professor and author who is starting to work with the police to solve crimes. Notable People- This has Alan Cumming who is known for being on Broadway and formerly starring in The Good Wife. Pros- It seems pretty interesting in some places. Cons- It can seem too similar to the show Castle in some ways. It doesn’t seem entirely original just yet. Note to Parents- This has the same sort of things wrong with it that you’d find in most shows. Recommendation- I think that it is good to watch if you like the average murder mystery. My Viewing Habits- I plan to keep watching this until the very end and have watched since the first episode. Prediction- TBA. Reception: mixed. Grade: B-.

Bright in a Hollow Sky: This is a movie about people trying to find what they have lost by going on a road trip to do so. It doesn’t have a release date or trailer just yet. Hopefully it can do better than other projects where nothing seems to come from it.

Going Back- This does not have a release date or trailer just yet. It focuses on a man who creates a frenzy by pretending to be a teenager. It seems to be set in Scotland, so that might be where it might be released. Hopefully, it will be released here too.

Run: While this doesn’t have a release date yet, it does have a trailer and a year of release of 2018. The plot is about a man who seems to have lost something important and will try to live life in a different way from this point forward. I’m guessing that running in some way will factor into the plot.

Thoughts on trailer: This looks very good and interesting, although I’m not sure that I can make anything out of the plot just yet. I’ll have to see what becomes of it in the future. Whatever it is, I hope to see it and want to watch it, not just out of an obligation to doing this blog in the future.

Zach Grenier: Well, he’s finally doing a project. It is a TV movie called Devs. It looks like it will be moving forward in the future. I’ll explain more of what it is soon. I’m glad to see that he is doing something. I had a practically blank spot here for a while.

Devs: It will be airing on FX at some point. It seems like it could be interesting as it relates to a missing person and a development division in a company. It’s a shame that I probably won’t be able to see it anytime in the future. It has a release year of 2019. The news says that this will be on BBC now instead of FX.

Matthew Goode: He has been doing a lot of projects since leaving The Good Wife. I might as well get to mentioning all of them. A project he’s doing is Magik. Another new project he’s in is called Four Kids and it. He’s done so much and keeps doing more. I’m not sure if he is still in Four Kids and it or Magik. I also don’t know if either of those last two projects are still moving forward. Yet another potential project of his is called A Discovery of Witches, which would be a TV show. I see him listed as starring in a movie called Official Secrets. Another new thing he appears to be doing is Medieval.

Magik: This is an animated movie in the fantasy genre. It looks like it will be a Canadian film. There is no trailer for it yet. This is in postproduction according to imdb. The plot relates to a father visiting an alternate world to find his missing kids. While the US release date remains unknown, the UK release date is sometime in 2018. Imbd no longer mentions this as a project that Matthew is in. While it looks like the movie is still moving forward, I can’t tell if he is still in this.

Four Kids and it: This looks like another in a line of kids finding some magical creature film. I liked these as a kid, although I’m not sure that I’ll still have the same fondness as an adult. Hopefully I can. There is no trailer of specific release date for it yet. It changed from 2017 as the year to an unknown year. I do hope that they can come up with a better name for it than what they have now. It is a good thing that I kept this in the update as it appears that he will be in this after all if all still moves forward the same way as he might be in this again.

A Discovery of Witches: This is out now. It will air on the Sky network which I think is British and not American meaning that I doubt that I’d be able to see it. The plot makes it seem like a supernatural show that has witches and vampires who have to work together even though they shouldn’t trust each other. It has a trailer now:

Thoughts on trailer: This seems mysterious and possibly interesting. It does seem to have some of the usual concepts of forbidden love and could wind up focusing too much on sex in some places that it probably shouldn’t. I just wish that it would air in the US. Maybe it will in the summer of 2019 on the CW. Otherwise, you’ll just see it here in these updates for as long as I keep it here.

Official Secrets: This will be a movie if it gets made. It has no release date or trailer yet. It is about a whistleblower and the war in Iraq. I would want to see more about it at some point in time, so I hope that it gets made.

Medieval: This is a movie set to be released sometime in 2019. I don’t know if this is based on a true story or not. But it seems like it is about two people and how they seek to win against an army of people.

Cush Jumbo: In addition to doing The Good Fight, there’s at least one other project that she is doing, a short called Toads & Bluebottles. I would guess that since she’s doing a TV show, she’d be doing less projects, which is why I don’t see them mentioned.

Toads & Bluebottles: This is going to be a ten minute short. There’s no trailer or release date for this just yet. I’m not sure how to see most shorts. I think that most of them are hard to come by. It is listed as in preproduction. I was able to find the plot: it’s an animated story about imaginary people doing a life journey in just ten minutes. Will it be good? I have no idea. I’d have to see it, or at least a trailer for it, to know for sure. The year of release is now an unknown time.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan: He is now in the cast of The Walking Dead. It appears that he is also in a new project called Militia. Another thing that he appears to be in is a movie called Walkaway Joe. I’m not sure what else he could be doing.

The Walking Dead: This is a popular gory cable zombie drama about humans trying to save themselves from what is known as The Walking Dead. I honestly haven’t seen it, so I don’t know if it is as good as everyone makes it seem.

The Good Wife season 2 review

I don’t yet know when you’ll be seeing this in the future or if you’ll see it at all. But you should probably see it at some point in the future. Am I writing random filler? I guess. Now I had done the review of season one of this show a while ago. What is the next thing to do? Well, the second season makes sense. Let’s see if I can do a good post of this blog now.

Season 2 overview: In this season, we were introduced to Michael J Fox’s character for the first time. He made a good foil to the main ones. We learn that Kalinda had an affair with Peter towards the end of the season which affects her relationship with Alicia for a bit. Peter runs for office again and wins it after a long battle.

How this season was different than the others: Cary becomes an antagonist in a way since he winds up fighting against Alicia over and over again. He stays that way for quite some time until they wind up working together again later. The main subplot of this season was Peter getting office again. We often saw more issues with judges than we have seen in the past.

What made it good: It seemed to have a good way of separately the cases of each of the episodes and the recurring plot throughout the whole season. Peter’s redemption was a major point to this season and it seemed to work out well. While I don’t like what happened with Zach’s character, at least they started to flesh through what had happened with him and his relationships.

What made it bad: While hardly the worst season, it didn’t seem that good to me. The election plot was long and drawn out. I wondered why it was a three way race, only to make it a two way race towards the end. Kalinda having an affair with Peter seemed like a very unnecessary thing to put in there and only seemed to be more of a false conflict, where it didn’t add as much drama as it could have. I also didn’t like that a lot of the clients are or were found guilty of crimes.

More thoughts: Overall, this season had the show building steam on its way to being a better show later down the line, but not right away. It will still be a better show in later seasons, but not yet. It is hard to tell much about it in the long run compared to the other seasons, but I think that putting it in the middle of the road makes the most sense at this point in time.

That is all that I can really think of for this post. I can’t think of any more to think about. I might be able to do better recaps if and when I’m able to watch this show again if I had it on DVD. Description- Diane continues her adventures starting from scratch after losing her retirement money and starting at a new firm. Pros- The show is about the same level of quality that you would expect from The Good Wife. Cons- Apparently, there is going to be a lot of nudity in it. Like the original, this show is a bit too confusing. Note to Parents- Your kids would have to pay to watch this online so if they are seeing it, then you hopefully were the ones who let that happen, although I’d lean towards not letting really young people watch this. Recommendation- Since this is only available online for money, I would actually steer clear of this unless you really like the show. I like it, but not enough to shell out too much money for it. Prediction- This could last a while if people keep using the subscription service to watch it. It will be hard to tell for sure as it goes along. Reception: critically acclaimed. Grade: B.

Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again: This is a sequel to the film Mamma Mia which I have not yet seen, but I guess that I’ll have to now. She was in the original Mamma Mia, so that gives me more reason to watch it and make it a random post in the future. This is on DVD now. A review of the new one now follows.

Review: Movie Name- Mamma Mai! Here We Go Again. Genre: Musical drama. Rating: PG-13 for sex related parts. Noteworthiness- It is a sequel to a movie that was based off of a play that uses songs from a group called ABBA. Description- Part prequel and sequel, we see parallels between the main character setting up a hotel in honor of her mother and her mother’s adventures in the place. The Good Wife Alumni in it- Christine Baranski plays one of the friends of the mother. Pros- The plot is fairly straightforward and works. It can be nice seeing details in flashback form of what I’m sure the first movie would have originally focused on. Cons- The back and forth between timelines can be confusing, especially since the two actresses look a lot alike. The flashback plot is mostly obvious in many places. A lot of the main cast from the last film isn’t featured as much in this one as they could have been. Note to Parents- There are some sex related moments, but not nearly as bad as a lot of other movies are. Recommendation- I think that you should watch this, but it would work to see the original first. IMDB Ranking: 7.3. My Grade: B+.

Matt Czuchry: All of this time that you’ve seen me doing updates for him in this blog, you only saw me mentioning the reboot of Gilmore Girls. Well, I can finally take that off the update list and report on something new he is finally doing. It is a TV show called The Resident.

The Resident: This is a show that is currently on FOX. I’m not sure if there’s a better way of putting it than calling it a medical drama, which is what it would be. The main thing that would make it different is it focusing more on medicine than other shows have, according to one description that I read of it. That description may be wrong upon seeing the trailer, although I’d have to see the show to know for sure. A review of the show now follows.

The Resident: Status- Currently on FOX at 8/7 Central on Mondays. Why I’ve seen it- I watched this for my Good Wife blog and to fulfill my promise to watch a midseason replacement on FOX this season. Description- This is a medical drama that features different doctors, some new, and there are various problems at the hospital at times. It seems a rather complicated plot that is hard to sum up easily. It should make more sense as it goes along. Notable People- This has Matt Czuchry who used to star in The Good Wife and Gilmore girls. It also has Emily VanCamp who starred on Brothers and Sisters as well as Revenge. Pros- It points out the flaws that can happen in a hospital, but does it in a good way. It can seem more humanizing than most medical dramas that I’ve seen in the past. Cons- It seems similar to House. The lead can be strange and arrogant. Note to Parents- It airs with a content adversary warning in some episodes so that’s all you really need to know about it. Recommendation- I’d say that this is good to stay into if you want to. My Viewing Habits- I plan to watch this until the very end. Whether I’ll be able to see every episode or not remains to be seen. Prediction- It is hard to tell for sure this early, but I think that it might last a bit for now. Reception: mixed. Grade: B.

Makenzie Vega: She has been working since The Good Wife ended. Sadly, she hasn’t been doing that much. I haven’t been able to find something that I could review just yet. I hope that she ends up doing something good soon. Otherwise, I guess this will be one less person to worry about. She was in a made for TV movie that came out recently. She also appeared in two episodes of 13 Reasons Why.

Alan Cumming: Here’s an actor who’s known for starring in Broadway plays and productions. Perhaps you have seen him on the Tony Awards that you always watch because you can’t afford to see Broadway any other way. It looks like he has a lot of future projects in the works. One is called The Surrealist. He is also doing something called Instinct. Another thing that he is in is called Bright in a Hollow Sky. Yet another thing that he appears to be doing is a TV movie called Going Back. There’s also a new project called Run. That’s a lot.

The Surrealist: This appears to be a scripted movie regarding an artist named Salvador Dali. This appears to be based off of a true story. It looks like he has issues with his wife over his obsession with the Mona Lisa. There is no release date or trailer for the movie, and it appears that it doesn’t so much as have a single year of release on it just yet. Upon doing more research, it might be in development hell since a source I found with information says that it was planned since at least the fifth upcoming season of The Good Wife. So hopefully something will eventually come of this potential project. I’m not even sure if it belongs in these updates.

Instinct: You’ll find out more information about this in the next paragraph where I review the show. It is on hiatus now until the second season starts sometime in the future. We will have to wait until later until there is a release date for it.

Instinct: Status- Currently on hiatus until season 2 starts. Why I’ve seen it- I normally always watch a CBS show at least once. Noteworthiness- This is adapted from a James Patterson book. Description- It is hard to tell for sure that much about it right off the bat, but it seems to be about a professor and author who is starting to work with the police to solve crimes. Notable People- This has Alan Cumming who is known for being on Broadway and formerly starring in The Good Wife. Pros- It seems pretty interesting in some places. Cons- It can seem too similar to the show Castle in some ways. It doesn’t seem entirely original just yet. Note to Parents- This has the same sort of things wrong with it that you’d find in most shows. Recommendation- I think that it is good to watch if you like the average murder mystery. My Viewing Habits- I plan to keep watching this until the very end and have watched since the first episode. Prediction- TBA. Reception: mixed. Grade: B-.

Bright in a Hollow Sky: This is a movie about people trying to find what they have lost by going on a road trip to do so. It doesn’t have a release date or trailer just yet. Hopefully it can do better than other projects where nothing seems to come from it.

Going Back- This does not have a release date or trailer just yet. It focuses on a man who creates a frenzy by pretending to be a teenager. It seems to be set in Scotland, so that might be where it might be released. Hopefully, it will be released here too.

Run: While this doesn’t have a release date yet, it does have a trailer and a year of release of 2018. The plot is about a man who seems to have lost something important and will try to live life in a different way from this point forward. I’m guessing that running in some way will factor into the plot.

Thoughts on trailer: This looks very good and interesting, although I’m not sure that I can make anything out of the plot just yet. I’ll have to see what becomes of it in the future. Whatever it is, I hope to see it and want to watch it, not just out of an obligation to doing this blog in the future.

Zach Grenier: Well, he’s finally doing a project. It is a TV movie called Devs. It looks like it will be moving forward in the future. I’ll explain more of what it is soon. I’m glad to see that he is doing something. I had a practically blank spot here for a while.

Devs: It will be airing on FX at some point. It seems like it could be interesting as it relates to a missing person and a development division in a company. It’s a shame that I probably won’t be able to see it anytime in the future. It has a release year of 2019.

Matthew Goode: He has been doing a lot of projects since leaving The Good Wife. I might as well get to mentioning all of them. A project he’s doing is Magik. Another new project he’s in is called Four Kids and it. He’s done so much and keeps doing more. I’m not sure if he is still in Four Kids and it or Magik. I also don’t know if either of those last two projects are still moving forward. Yet another potential project of his is called A Discovery of Witches, which would be a TV show. I see him listed as starring in a movie called Official Secrets.

Magik: This is an animated movie in the fantasy genre. It looks like it will be a Canadian film. There is no trailer for it yet. This is in postproduction according to imdb. The plot relates to a father visiting an alternate world to find his missing kids. While the US release date remains unknown, the UK release date is sometime in 2018. Imbd no longer mentions this as a project that Matthew is in. While it looks like the movie is still moving forward, I can’t tell if he is still in this.

Four Kids and it: This looks like another in a line of kids finding some magical creature film. I liked these as a kid, although I’m not sure that I’ll still have the same fondness as an adult. Hopefully I can. There is no trailer of specific release date for it yet. It changed from 2017 as the year to an unknown year. I do hope that they can come up with a better name for it than what they have now. It is a good thing that I kept this in the update as it appears that he will be in this after all if all still moves forward the same way as he might be in this again.

A Discovery of Witches: This is out now. It will air on the Sky network which I think is British and not American meaning that I doubt that I’d be able to see it. The plot makes it seem like a supernatural show that has witches and vampires who have to work together even though they shouldn’t trust each other. It has a trailer now:

Thoughts on trailer: This seems mysterious and possibly interesting. It does seem to have some of the usual concepts of forbidden love and could wind up focusing too much on sex in some places that it probably shouldn’t. I just wish that it would air in the US. Maybe it will in the summer of 2019 on the CW. Otherwise, you’ll just see it here in these updates for as long as I keep it here.

Official Secrets: This will be a movie if it gets made. It has no release date or trailer yet. It is about a whistleblower and the war in Iraq. I would want to see more about it at some point in time, so I hope that it gets made.

Cush Jumbo: In addition to doing The Good Fight, there’s at least one other project that she is doing, a short called Toads & Bluebottles. I would guess that since she’s doing a TV show, she’d be doing less projects, which is why I don’t see them mentioned.

Toads & Bluebottles: This is going to be a ten minute short. There’s no trailer or release date for this just yet. I’m not sure how to see most shorts. I think that most of them are hard to come by. It is listed as in preproduction. I was able to find the plot: it’s an animated story about imaginary people doing a life journey in just ten minutes. Will it be good? I have no idea. I’d have to see it, or at least a trailer for it, to know for sure. The year of release is now an unknown time.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan: He is now in the cast of The Walking Dead. It appears that he is also in a new project called Militia. Another thing that he appears to me in is a movie called Walkaway Joe.

The Walking Dead: This is a popular gory cable zombie drama about humans trying to save themselves from what is known as The Walking Dead. I honestly haven’t seen it, so I don’t know if it is as good as everyone makes it seem.

Militia: It doesn’t have a release date just yet. The plot relates to a shooting at a police funeral being investigated by a militia man. Hopefully a trailer or release date shows up with it in the future. Until then, we wait. Somehow, this is removed from imdb’s website so I don’t know if this is still moving forward or not. I might have to remove it from further updates, but don’t know if I will or not.

Walkaway Joe: This doesn’t have a release date yet. It appears that it will be about the friendship between a man and a kid. It might be a western, but it is hard to tell that much about it just yet.

Robert King: Here is where we switch to writing credits. He and his wife are helping with The Good Fight. He’s also doing a TV show called Evil. We’ll see if that makes it past the pilot phase. He’s working on another TV show called Girls with Guns.

Mamma Mia review

You should have seen the review that I did by now of the sequel to this movie. But I need to see the original movie and do a review of it. Maybe the sequel will make more sense when I do this. So enjoy this review.

We begin with a person on a boat. She is singing a song. That was early. The main character sends a letter to three different men. Let’s hope that I can keep track of all the different names of people this time around. There is a montage shown of all of these different men in different countries and places. That’s where the title card of the movie is and starts.

The protagonist meets with her core group with two other friends. She doesn’t know who her dad is. She reads from her mother’s diary of the story that I know about from the sequel that I’ve already seen. This leads to the second song and first really long one of the movie. Apparently dot dot dot is the same thing as yada yada yada. And I thought it was just a thing Trump tweeted all the time. She invited all of the three men under the idea that her mother sent it.

The three men wind up on a boat ride together. We also see people on a ferry. It then goes back to her friends for a while. We then get to more people arriving at the place. Donna meets up with her two main friends. They drive somewhere. Sophie is the name of the person who is getting married. Rosie and Tanya are the names of the friends of Donna.

The men realize on their way going together that they haven’t heard from Donna in such a long time. There is some awkwardness with people when they arrive. Donna then gets to the third song of the movie talking about how overworked she has felt and she wants money in the rich man’s world. There might have been an earthquake or some reason why the dolphin cracked in some way.

Bill, Harry, and Sam arrive with Sophie greeting them. She wants them to come in a certain way to avoid any sort of weirdness. Donna is possibly drunk when she is with her friends, hanging out. Sophie takes her possible fathers to a room where she talks about some of the past. She then has to hide them when Donna shows up.

Once Donna notices the old flames from her past there, she breaks out into the main song that the movie is named after and fourth song of the movie. This leads to some weird people joining the song and her falling into the place. She talks with them some as she wonders why they are there.

Donna is crying for some reason while her two friends sing badly until they start to sing better about whatever the issue is. I do not understand this. She tells them that all three of them showed up. Her two friends learn about the three potential fathers. The town people laugh at her as extras often don’t mind their own business in musicals. Where did the men go?

Back at Donna’s place wherever it is she is staying at, her friends sing Dancing Queen, the sixth song of the movie. There seems to be a lot of strange costumes in this scene. But at least the extras know to join in with this.

Sophie wants to make sure that her dads don’t just leave on their boat. One of them took a guitar for some odd reason. One of them starts singing. It seems like she is getting details from them to figure out who might be her father. But this might not be the case as we get way less flashbacks then in the sequel. I still don’t know why she is being so secretive about things.

She talks to her fiancée and he sings the eighth song of the movie. She joins in the song as well which seems to be very sexual in nature. Who were those random men on the dock who joined in the song?

We then get to the bachelorette party. That’s when Donna and her friends come out and do yet another song for this movie. They went kind of overboard with all of these songs in it. At least there’s a little plot in this movie. The dads show up during this song. What could happen next?

How many of these songs were recycled in the sequel to this?  There is then another song since the men showed up and the women are horny and tie these men up because that’s normal. Sam talks to Sophie alone while this song happens in the background, off-screen. Sophie tries to figure who her father is and talks to the rest of her potential fathers one on one. Bill thinks that he’s the father.

What song number are we at next? Masked men show up at the bachelorette party and they aren’t worried as it is all part of the elaborate song sequence. Sam thinks that he is the father and talks to Sophie about it. Harry also thinks that he’s the father and I don’t think that anyone thinks of doing a last minute DNA test. Surely those were around when this movie is set.

The next day, both Donna and Sophie worry about what is going on. Did someone just say donkey testicles? Why? Harry and Bill talk to each other and the whole sort of general awkwardness continues. Some random woman is listening to this. She sees some of what is going on. Sophie and Donna are talking to each other. Donna is confused about what’s going. But she doesn’t want to wedding called off.

Sam talks to Donna. They try to figure out things. Men don’t get menopause. This leads to another song. How are people supposed to know when they are supposed to do this anyways? Sorry, I shouldn’t be taking musicals too seriously.

I forget if Christine Baranski is playing Tanya or Rosie. Whoever she is, there are some sort of moves that she is putting on a black guy. She sings a song to him and may have hooked up with him last night, even though it wasn’t seen in the movie, to my knowledge at least.

Harry reaches with Donna and he gives money for the wedding. Sophie asks for help and then runs off. Her fiancée talks to her and both of them get upset. Sam then talks to Sophie some about some of the things. We then get to another song that starts with Donna singing. She reminisces about her daughter’s life. Things are slipping through fingers all the time. They talk more about what is going on. It turns out that Donna will give Sophie away at the wedding.

We then get to the bride riding a donkey for some odd reason. This movie is just so weird. But what, nowadays, isn’t weird? Of course, this came out around ten years ago. Sam talks to Donna and yet another song happens. I haven’t seen the video that I posted here to recap this movie, but I have the feeling that Jeremy doesn’t like this movie at all. While I do, it wouldn’t be hard to see why. I don’t get the meaning of all of these songs.

We then get to wedding in question where her mother walks her down the aisle. They then get to the dad sort of reveal where the three fathers are here. This is kind of awkward, but that doesn’t seem to last long. Actually, it does get more awkward when they all seem to speak up and the beginning of the wedding is delayed. They want to put off the wedding and the character says what everyone is thinking when Sophie wants to call off the wedding for now. This is Adam Decker, whoops! Kind of got ahead of myself there, didn’t I?

Sam then wants to marry Donna and they wind up together. Now I have to watch the sequel again sometime. But when? We get to what might end up being the last song of the movie. It is hard to tell for sure. But what made Sam the right person? Or is this just a way of saying that he probably is the dad, even if we don’t know for sure. He sings a song at this wedding. All is said and done, I think.

I don’t know who this random woman is that wants to be with Bill, but she sings at the wedding and that’s how we get to him possibly taking a chance on her. But will this romance that came out of nowhere mean anything? The crack from earlier then shows up with water bursting out of it. I don’t get it! This sure is a silly movie.

After a quick reprise of Mamma Mia, the song, we go back to Sophie singing to the audience some. We then see her with her dads as people leave. She has a dream in the end, alright. Thus, there is a reprise of Dancing Queen as the credits roll.

Well, this was quite a strange movie, but what musicals aren’t? Do you know of any? Now I know details about the sequel that I wouldn’t have known otherwise. But at least I know the whole story of the fathers. Now I think that this was a good movie, even if a lot of it didn’t make sense.

There is an encore for us of the Waterloo song, I think. It is hard to tell for sure. But it seems like the curtain call of the movie. Sorry if this wasn’t that great a recap. I do not know if anyone likes these or are interested in them. I doubt that I could ever write these for a living.

Cast Update 10-5-2018

If any of you get My Network TV, you might be lucky enough to live in a region where they will start airing reruns of this show. This means that the day of the week that they air reruns on could become a regular time when I post this blog. It is hard to know what all will change or could change with it.

One of this show’s replacements, Life in Pieces, will now be replaced by a revival of Murphy Brown. Hopefully, it can be good. I still need to get the first season of The Good Fight on DVD. As for when I’m getting the reruns of this show on My Network TV, they are airing on Thursdays that would make it a potential time to put this blog on in the future, so we’ll see if that happens or not.

Spin-off information- My review of the spin-off will follow later in this post. It will probably stay for as long as the show is still on. If the show leaves the air, then I’ll probably cut it. I do plan on creating a new blog for it in the future. I guess that I will just have to keep you updated on when it might be released in the future.

Julianna Margulies: It appears that the main actress has a project in the works. She has a new TV show called Dietland is now on AMC. She is also working on a new project called The Hot Zone, which will be a miniseries. I hope that it airs on the FOX network so I can see it.

Dietland: This is an AMC show in development about weight loss and fashion, or society’s obsession with them, at least. It is airing now. It sounds dumb, but at least I won’t have to watch it. I don’t know if she will have a long term role in it or not, but I will keep this here in the meantime until I know more. If you can’t tell by now, I tend to treat shows differently than movies. No idea how awkward most parts of the update will be when I can’t review the show in question. This has a trailer now that I will talk about.

Thoughts on trailer: Perhaps the name is misleading. This looks more like an interesting version of a murder mystery then some stupid show about food. It is hard to tell much based on the promo being as short as it is. But it looks better than I might have thought at one point.

The Hot Zone: This doesn’t have much of a plot mentioned, other than that it is about the spread of the Ebola virus. It does not have a release date or trailer just yet. FOX is the studio doing this, although I have no idea what FOX network it might end up on.

Josh Charles: He’s in something new called Framing John DeLorean. I hope that I see more from him in the future or this will be a fairly short segment that you will always see. It is hard to tell for sure what goes on with some of the projects of his or other people’s in this blog to be honest.

Framing John DeLorean- It might be a documentary. Also, I would suggest joining my facebook group Firefly: Where Are They Now? That will contain updates to this movie as well as it has Morena Baccarin in it. It has a release year of 2019.

Graham Phillips: He has had a minor role on Riverdale’s second season. We’ll see if we see more of him there in the future or not. He is also going to appear in a movie called The Bygone. I don’t know if he is doing as much anymore, but at least he is doing something.

The Bygone: This has a release year of 2018. It doesn’t have a trailer yet. It looks like a missing person drama of some sort and could be very interesting. Hopefully it will get made and come out in a format that I could easily watch sooner rather than later.

Archie Panjabi: This actress did a lot after leaving the show. She did the show Blindspot, although she doesn’t have that much of a role in it anymore, I’ll keep mentioning it until I find something new to add in its place. I also see her mentioned in some show called Next of Kin. It is a British show that looks like it is already released so it won’t get much of a mention besides that. She might be showing up in a new show in the future, but until more is known, it won’t get its own section yet.

Blindspot: This show is on hiatus. Archie played a character who seems to suddenly be helping with the team. A review will follow. Her character is the leader of the team at the moment, although I’m not sure I fully understand how that happened. I don’t know if she is still with the show this new season, but the review will remain as long as the show is still on. Be on the lookout for it moving to a new and different section of these updates.

Review: Blindspot: Status- Currently on hiatus. Why I’ve seen it- I was interested in the idea of it. Description- For mysterious reasons, a woman has amnesia and tattoos all over her body and there are crimes solved based off of this. Notable People- Archie Panjabi, who was on The Good Wife, was a character on the show. Pros- The show is intriguing and interesting. Cons- The show may seem a bit scatterbrained and it seems like they are trying to do a female version of Jason Bourne. The show can seem similar to other types of dramas in a way. It can also be more violent than it needs to be. Note to Parents- I’d say that this is something that teenagers can watch, but not any younger than that. I think that all the episodes I’ve seen thus far were TV14. Recommendation- I’d say that this is worth watching. Prediction- I’m not sure that I have a high hope for the show at the moment. I could be proven wrong, but Fridays aren’t a good time for a show to be at. Reception: positive. Grade: B+.

Christine Baranski: After rejecting various pilots and other projects in the hopes of getting a spin-off from the Good Wife, she got what was wanted and will be on a Good Wife spin-off. It will only be available on CBS All Access (and hopefully DVDs in the future). The spin-off is called The Good Fight. Another thing that she’s working on is Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. I wonder if that was a play before. It doesn’t seem like she’s doing much in film and TV at least.

The Good Fight: It will be put on www.cbs.com and be available to watch on CBS all access to those that want it. It is available now. Expect to see the same review over and over again for whichever people work on this from The Good Wife.

Description- Diane continues her adventures starting from scratch after losing her retirement money and starting at a new firm. Pros- The show is about the same level of quality that you would expect from The Good Wife. Cons- Apparently, there is going to be a lot of nudity in it. Like the original, this show is a bit too confusing. Note to Parents- Your kids would have to pay to watch this online so if they are seeing it, then you hopefully were the ones who let that happen, although I’d lean towards not letting really young people watch this. Recommendation- Since this is only available online for money, I would actually steer clear of this unless you really like the show. I like it, but not enough to shell out too much money for it. Prediction- This could last a while if people keep using the subscription service to watch it. It will be hard to tell for sure as it goes along. Reception: critically acclaimed. Grade: B.

Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again: This is a sequel to the film Mamma Mia which I have not yet seen, but I guess that I’ll have to now. She was in the original Mamma Mia, so that gives me more reason to watch it and make it a random post in the future. This will be on DVD on October 23, 2018. A review now follows.

Review: Movie Name- Mamma Mai! Here We Go Again. Genre: Musical drama. Rating: PG-13 for sex related parts. Noteworthiness- It is a sequel to a movie that was based off of a play that uses songs from a group called ABBA. Description- Part prequel and sequel, we see parallels between the main character setting up a hotel in honor of her mother and her mother’s adventures in the place. The Good Wife Alumni in it- Christine Baranski plays one of the friends of the mother. Pros- The plot is fairly straightforward and works. It can be nice seeing details in flashback form of what I’m sure the first movie would have originally focused on. Cons- The back and forth between timelines can be confusing, especially since the two actresses look a lot alike. The flashback plot is mostly obvious in many places. A lot of the main cast from the last film isn’t featured as much in this one as they could have been. Note to Parents- There are some sex related moments, but not nearly as bad as a lot of other movies are. Recommendation- I think that you should watch this, but it would work to see the original first. IMDB Ranking: 7.3. My Grade: B+.

Matt Czuchry: All of this time that you’ve seen me doing updates for him in this blog, you only saw me mentioning the reboot of Gilmore Girls. Well, I can finally take that off the update list and report on something new he is finally doing. It is a TV show called The Resident.

The Resident: This is a show that is on hiatus right now. I’m not sure if there’s a better way of putting it than calling it a medical drama, which is what it would be. The main thing that would make it different is it focusing more on medicine than other shows have, according to one description that I read of it. That description may be wrong upon seeing the trailer, although I’d have to see the show to know for sure. A review of the show now follows.

The Resident: Status- Currently on hiatus. Why I’ve seen it- I watched this for my Good Wife blog and to fulfill my promise to watch a midseason replacement on FOX this season. Description- This is a medical drama that features different doctors, some new, and there are various problems at the hospital at times. It seems a rather complicated plot that is hard to sum up easily. It should make more sense as it goes along. Notable People- This has Matt Czuchry who used to star in The Good Wife and Gilmore girls. It also has Emily VanCamp who starred on Brothers and Sisters as well as Revenge. Pros- It points out the flaws that can happen in a hospital, but does it in a good way. It can seem more humanizing than most medical dramas that I’ve seen in the past. Cons- It seems similar to House. The lead can be strange and arrogant. Note to Parents- It airs with a content adversary warning in some episodes so that’s all you really need to know about it. Recommendation- I’d say that this is good to stay into if you want to. My Viewing Habits- I plan to watch this until the very end. Whether I’ll be able to see every episode or not remains to be seen. Prediction- It is hard to tell for sure this early, but I think that it might last a bit for now. Reception: mixed. Grade: B.

Makenzie Vega: She has been working since The Good Wife ended. Sadly, she hasn’t been doing that much. I haven’t been able to find something that I could review just yet. I hope that she ends up doing something good soon. Otherwise, I guess this will be one less person to worry about. She was in a made for TV movie that came out recently. She also appeared in two episodes of 13 Reasons Why.

Alan Cumming: Here’s an actor who’s known for starring in Broadway plays and productions. Perhaps you have seen him on the Tony Awards that you always watch because you can’t afford to see Broadway any other way. It looks like he has a lot of future projects in the works. One is called The Surrealist. He is also doing something called Instinct. Another thing that he is in is called Bright in a Hollow Sky. Yet another thing that he appears to be doing is a TV movie called Going Back. There’s also a new project called Run.

The Surrealist: This appears to be a scripted movie regarding an artist named Salvador Dali. This appears to be based off of a true story. It looks like he has issues with his wife over his obsession with the Mona Lisa. There is no release date or trailer for the movie, and it appears that it doesn’t so much as have a single year of release on it just yet. Upon doing more research, it might be in development hell since a source I found with information says that it was planned since at least the fifth upcoming season of The Good Wife. So hopefully something will eventually come of this potential project. I’m not even sure if it belongs in these updates.

Instinct: You’ll find out more information about this in the next paragraph where I review the show. It is on hiatus now until the second season starts sometime in the future. We will have to wait until later until there is a release date for it.

Instinct: Status- Currently on hiatus until season 2 starts. Why I’ve seen it- I normally always watch a CBS show at least once. Noteworthiness- This is adapted from a James Patterson book. Description- It is hard to tell for sure that much about it right off the bat, but it seems to be about a professor and author who is starting to work with the police to solve crimes. Notable People- This has Alan Cumming who is known for being on Broadway and formerly starring in The Good Wife. Pros- It seems pretty interesting in some places. Cons- It can seem too similar to the show Castle in some ways. It doesn’t seem entirely original just yet. Note to Parents- This has the same sort of things wrong with it that you’d find in most shows. Recommendation- I think that it is good to watch if you like the average murder mystery. My Viewing Habits- I plan to keep watching this until the very end and have watched since the first episode. Prediction- TBA. Reception: mixed. Grade: B-.

Bright in a Hollow Sky: This is a movie about people trying to find what they have lost by going on a road trip to do so. It doesn’t have a release date or trailer just yet. Hopefully it can do better than other projects where nothing seems to come from it.

Going Back- This does not have a release date or trailer just yet. It focuses on a man who creates a frenzy by pretending to be a teenager. It seems to be set in Scotland, so that might be where it might be released. Hopefully, it will be released here too.

Run: While this doesn’t have a release date yet, it does have a trailer and a year of release of 2018. The plot is about a man who seems to have lost something important and will try to live life in a different way from this point forward. I’m guessing that running in some way will factor into the plot.

Thoughts on trailer: This looks very good and interesting, although I’m not sure that I can make anything out of the plot just yet. I’ll have to see what becomes of it in the future. Whatever it is, I hope to see it and want to watch it, not just out of an obligation to doing this blog in the future.

Zach Grenier: Well, he’s finally doing a project. It is a TV movie called Devs. It looks like it will be moving forward in the future. I’ll explain more of what it is soon. I’m glad to see that he is doing something. I had a practically blank spot here for a while.

Devs: It will be airing on FX at some point. It seems like it could be interesting as it relates to a missing person and a development division in a company. It’s a shame that I probably won’t be able to see it anytime in the future. It had a release year of 2019.

Matthew Goode: He has been doing a lot of projects since leaving The Good Wife. I might as well get to mentioning all of them. A project he’s doing is Magik. Another new project he’s in is called Four Kids and it. He’s done so much and keeps doing more. I’m not sure if he is still in Four Kids and it or Magik. I also don’t know if either of those last two projects are still moving forward. Yet another potential project of his is called A Discovery of Witches, which would be a TV show. I see him listed as starring in a movie called Official Secrets.

Magik: This is an animated movie in the fantasy genre. It looks like it will be a Canadian film. There is no trailer for it yet. This is in postproduction according to imdb. The plot relates to a father visiting an alternate world to find his missing kids. While the US release date remains unknown, the UK release date is sometime in 2018. Imbd no longer mentions this as a project that Matthew is in. While it looks like the movie is still moving forward, I can’t tell if he is still in this.

Four Kids and it: This looks like another in a line of kids finding some magical creature film. I liked these as a kid, although I’m not sure that I’ll still have the same fondness as an adult. Hopefully I can. There is no trailer of specific release date for it yet. It changed from 2017 as the year to an unknown year. I do hope that they can come up with a better name for it than what they have now. It is a good thing that I kept this in the update as it appears that he will be in this after all if all still moves forward the same way as he might be in this again.

A Discovery of Witches: This is out now. It will air on the Sky network which I think is British and not American meaning that I doubt that I’d be able to see it. The plot makes it seem like a supernatural show that has witches and vampires who have to work together even though they shouldn’t trust each other. It has a trailer now:

Toads & Bluebottles: This is going to be a ten minute short. There’s no trailer or release date for this just yet. I’m not sure how to see most shorts. I think that most of them are hard to come by. It is listed as in preproduction. I was able to find the plot: it’s an animated story about imaginary people doing a life journey in just ten minutes. Will it be good? I have no idea. I’d have to see it, or at least a trailer for it, to know for sure. The year of release is now an unknown time.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan: It appears that he joined the cast of The Walking Dead. Thankfully, while I will not be able to watch it myself, I do know someone (multiple people, actually) who can review the show for me. I just hope that someone does something. You can post one yourself in the comments. It appears that he is also in a new project called Militia.

The Walking Dead: This is a popular gory cable zombie drama about humans trying to save themselves from what is known as The Walking Dead. I honestly haven’t seen it, so I don’t know if it is as good as everyone makes it seem. But I’ll leave that to guest reviewers of mine to decide for you. Hopefully I get them some point soon so they can help me. If not, I’ll just mention the show until I do get a guest review here at some point. I may even try to review this myself if I can borrow a copy from someone.

Militia: It doesn’t have a release date just yet. The plot relates to a shooting at a police funeral being investigated by a militia man. Hopefully a trailer or release date shows up with it in the future. Until then, we wait. Somehow, this is removed from imdb’s website so I don’t know if this is still moving forward or not. I might have to remove it from further updates, but don’t know if I will or not.
